Terms and Conditions – BSC Renewables

Last updated: 11 December 2025

Welcome to BSC Renewables. These Terms and Conditions explain how we provide our products and services, and how you can use our website.

By using our website or engaging us to supply products or services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

BSC Renewables is an Australian solar and electrical business providing installation, repair and maintenance of:

  • Solar panels and solar inverters
  • Battery systems
  • EV chargers
  • Heat pumps
  • Ducted air conditioning

We also offer solar finance options through our finance partner, 28Watt.

2. Scope of these Terms

These Terms apply to:

  • All products and services we supply to residential and commercial customers in Australia; and
  • Your use of our website: www.bscrenewables.com.au

Where we provide you with a written quote, work order or contract, that document will sit alongside these Terms. If there is any inconsistency, the specific quote/contract will usually override these general Terms (to the extent of the inconsistency).

3. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You may be entitled to remedies such as repair, replacement, refund, or compensation in certain circumstances. If these Terms appear inconsistent with your rights under the ACL, your ACL rights will prevail.

4. Quotes, pricing and payment

4.1 Quotes
Quotes are usually valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless stated otherwise. Quotes are based on the information you provide and our initial assessment. If site conditions are different from what was disclosed or reasonably apparent, we may need to revise the quote.

4.2 Deposits and progress payments
We may require a deposit before ordering equipment or confirming installation dates. For larger projects, we may require progress payments at agreed stages. Payment terms and due dates will be clearly stated in your quote or invoice.

4.3 Final payment
Final payment is usually due on completion of the work (or as stated in the invoice). We may refuse to energise or hand over system documentation until full payment has been received, to the extent permitted by law.

5. Finance with 28Watt

We partner with 28Watt to make finance available for eligible customers. Any finance is subject to approval by 28Watt or other credit provider.

BSC Renewables is not a credit provider and does not make any decisions about your finance application. Finance terms, interest rates, fees and repayment schedules are determined by 28Watt (or the relevant lender) and are separate from your contract with BSC Renewables for products and installation.

We strongly recommend that you read all finance documents carefully and seek independent financial advice if needed.

6. Customer responsibilities

To help us do the job safely and efficiently, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about your property, electrical infrastructure, and usage;
  • Ensure we have clear, safe access to the site at the agreed times;
  • Obtain any landlord, body corporate or other owner approvals where required;
  • Not interfere with or modify the system or wiring yourself (unless you are appropriately licensed);
  • Follow any instructions, manuals and safety advice we provide.

Where council or planning approvals are required, we will tell you what’s needed and who is responsible for obtaining them (this may vary from job to job).

7. Site inspection and variations

Sometimes conditions we find on-site may differ from what was originally quoted (for example, switchboard upgrades, roof condition, asbestos, or structural issues).

If this happens:

  • We will explain what’s changed, why it matters, and what options you have.
  • We will give you a revised quote or variation for your approval before proceeding with any extra work or costs (where practicable).
  • If you do not agree to the variation, we may not be able to proceed with all or part of the job. In that case, reasonable costs already incurred (e.g. design, travel, materials) may still be payable.

8. Installation and workmanship

All electrical work is carried out by appropriately licensed electricians or supervised apprentices, in line with relevant Australian Standards, local regulations and distribution network requirements.

We will take reasonable care to minimise disruption and damage to your property, but some minor cosmetic impacts may be unavoidable (e.g. small drill holes or patching). We will leave the work area tidy and remove our rubbish when we leave, unless otherwise agreed.

9. Product and workmanship warranties

9.1 Manufacturer warranties
Most products (panels, inverters, batteries, EV chargers, heat pumps, ducted systems) come with manufacturer warranties. We will provide you with warranty documentation or links to the manufacturer’s warranty terms. Manufacturer warranties are provided by the manufacturer, not BSC Renewables, though we will assist you with lodging warranty claims where reasonably possible.

9.2 Workmanship warranty
We stand behind our workmanship. We provide a workmanship warranty on our installation work for a period stated in your quote or invoice, in addition to any ACL rights. This does not cover misuse, unauthorised modifications, or damage caused by events outside our control (e.g. storms, vandalism, pests, third-party work). If you have a warranty concern, please contact us promptly with details and supporting photos if possible.

10. Monitoring, performance and energy savings

System performance and savings depend on many factors including weather, shading, usage patterns, network limitations and future tariff changes.

Any performance estimates we provide are based on typical assumptions and are not a guarantee of specific savings or payback periods. We are not responsible for changes in feed-in tariffs, electricity prices or relevant government policies.

11. STCs, rebates and government incentives

We may assist you with Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) or other rebates/incentives. Where your quote includes an STC discount, you may be required to assign the STCs to us or a third party.

If government incentives change or are withdrawn before your system is installed, your out-of-pocket cost may change. We will let you know if this affects your quote. We do our best to stay up to date, but it is ultimately your responsibility to confirm your eligibility and understand any tax implications. Consider getting independent advice if unsure.

12. Access to your property

You authorise us (and our staff/contractors) to access your property at reasonable times to:

  • Carry out site inspections;
  • Deliver and install equipment;
  • Perform testing, commissioning, maintenance or repairs.

We will always try to agree on a suitable time with you and respect your privacy and property.

13. Cancellations and rescheduling

13.1 By you
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know as early as possible. If you cancel after we have already ordered equipment, completed significant design work, or travelled to the site, we may charge for reasonable costs already incurred.

13.2 By us
Occasionally, we may need to reschedule due to weather, illness, supply issues or network/power company requirements. We will give you as much notice as we reasonably can and offer a new date/time.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss (such as loss of profit or business), except where required by the ACL.
  • Our total liability in connection with our products or services is limited (at our option) to: supplying the services again; replacing or repairing the equipment; or paying the cost of having the services or equipment supplied again.

This clause does not limit any non-excludable rights you have under the ACL.

15. Website use

When you use our Website, you agree to:

  • Not attempt to hack, interfere with or disrupt the Website;
  • Not use the Website for any unlawful or misleading purpose;
  • Not copy or reuse large portions of our content without permission.

We do our best to keep the Website accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted.

16. Intellectual property

All content on the Website, including text, logos, graphics and images, is owned by or licensed to BSC Renewables (unless otherwise credited).

You may view and print content for your personal, non-commercial use; but you must not reproduce, copy or distribute our content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

17. Third-party links and information

Our Website may contain links to third-party websites (including 28Watt and product manufacturers). These are provided for convenience only. We do not control, endorse or take responsibility for the content on third-party sites.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on our Website with the “Last updated” date. By continuing to use our Website or engage our services, you accept the updated Terms.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria and the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and Australia.
