The future of high-efficiency commercial hot water
The Reclaim Energy Q-TON Commercial Heat Pump is a powerful and sustainable solution for large-scale hot water generation. Designed in partnership with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, this system uses CO₂ as a natural refrigerant and features the world’s first two-stage compressor combining rotary and scroll technology. The result is exceptional energy efficiency, industry-leading reliability, and superior performance, even in cold Australian conditions.
How It Works
The Q-TON system draws free heat from the surrounding air and transfers it into water through a highly efficient air-to-water heat exchange process. Its unique two-stage compressor compresses CO₂ gas to high pressure, quickly increasing temperature and generating hot water up to 90 °C without the need for electric boosters. The system delivers a coefficient of performance (COP) of 4.3, meaning it produces more than four units of heat for every unit of electricity consumed.
Outstanding Efficiency and Sustainability
Using CO₂ a refrigerant with Global Warming Potential (GWP) = 1 and Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) = 0 the Q-TON is both environmentally friendly and future-ready. It maintains 100% heating capacity down to −7 °C and can operate in ambient temperatures as low as −25 °C, ensuring consistent hot water supply year-round without additional heat sources.
Scalable and Versatile Design
The Q-TON can operate as a stand-alone 30 kW unit or scale up to 16 connected units delivering a massive 480 kW of total heating capacity and supplying anywhere from 3,000 L to 100,000 L of hot water daily. This modular configuration makes it ideal for commercial sites such as:
- Hotels, resorts, and spas
- Apartment complexes and universities
- Hospitals, aged-care facilities, and laundries
- Restaurants, gyms, and food production sites
Smart Control & Energy Management
The system’s EcoTouch Controller provides complete control through a 3.8-inch LCD touchscreen. It allows easy monitoring, precise temperature adjustments, and flexible scheduling including weekly operation patterns, off-peak timers, and manual fill options. Energy management programming ensures hot water is produced at the most economical times of day, reducing electricity costs while meeting demand.
